The first recording of the musical piece (called morning, which is so different from the night, the evening serenade) is from 1927. In 1910 Calì was able to read the verses of his fellow citizen, while he was returning from a business trip to Malta. The beauty of the text struck him to the point that in the sole duration of the journey - one night - he composed the score by inspiration to set it to music. However the music version remained only a personal project and had to wait until 1927 to finally be engraved in Florence, at the phonic studio Mignani, where the Author engraved a good part of his works.
